FENG SHUI

Layout and sitting of a building with reference to the rest of the surrounding environment, both natural and built. Details of dimensioning and interior rendering are also considered in a Feng Shui building. Even names for the building or company must be carefully chosen.
  Orientation
The orientation of a building is determined by the main entrance door which may be affected by the yun, 'fate of the earth', the sha of the approach and the shui. The 'fate of the earth' is assessed by making reference to the year of completion and the owner's horoscope. Sha is sha qi or ill influence and will affect the Feng Shui of the building. Shui can be equated to positive forces such as water, main roads, (water dragons) that can enhance the qi of the place. It is generally believed that a site on elevated land with a hill at the back and sea in front is a good, auspicious site.
  Layout and Sitting
In the design of a layout it is important to study the surrounding buildings and landscape features carefully before finalizing the plans. The proposed building must be sited so that it forms part of the existing urban fabric and must be in harmony with the surrounding structures and natural elements.
   Dimensions and Details
The geomancer has a special ruler to measure the length and breadth of a building and the furniture within it. The details of the building are crucial to the success of Feng Shui interiors. Colour schemes must be carefully worked out to create harmony and avoid sha qi. Particular attention is paid to the alignment of its doors, the primary means by which cosmic breath enters a house and nourishes it.
